HTC One M8 Prime to have a ceramic body

HTC’s plotting to release an improved version of their One M8 smartphone, the HTC One M8 Prime, and rumor has it that it will be sporting a ceramic casing.

Although it may seem like a strange material to construct a cell phone with, apparently the ceramic that is being used for the upcoming smartphone is cheaper than aluminum, but also provides a great level of durability all while being easier to manufacture. Seems like a win-win for HTC, or any cell phone manufacturer, for that matter.

An official announcement regarding the HTC One M8 Prime should be made sometime this September, so for now, we’ll have to play the waiting game to see whether or not we’ll be sporting an Android smartphone made out of the same materials our coffee mugs are constructed with.

Other specs for the One M8 Prime included a 5.5” screen with a 2560x1440 display, a quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage with a microSD card slot, and LTE speeds that are capable of reaching 300 Mbit/s.

There has also been some talk of the One M8 Prime getting an updated camera, as HTC has received some flak for the sensor since the original One launched, and now the current One M8’s unit is receiving the same criticism.
